A simple spicy shrimp paste that's perfect for summer! Similar to the fra diavolo shrimp you get in Italian restaurants, this recipe is made with lots of garlic and cherry tomatoes bursting with summer goodness. A simple pasta dinner that is sure to please everyone!
Here's the deal. This beautiful recipe for spicy shrimp pasta was 2016 written everywhere. It's sassy, garlic, loaded with fresh seafood, and it's delicious. And yes, it's a close relative of the Fra Diavolo shrimp that you'll find in your favorite Italian restaurants, minus anchovies.
It's this quick pasta dinner that's chic enough to serve your guests, but still fast enough to gather on a weeknight when you have a screaming toddler attached to your left leg and a project, which you're going to, because of the next morning. Plus, how amazing are the carbohydrates. And if you're obsessed with garlic like we are, you might want a big chunk of garlic bread on the side. It's good food, all of you!
❤️❤️❤️Like most pasta recipes you see on the blog, this one has just a few ingredients, but a great flavor punch. ?????? No need to go out for your dose of spicy shrimp pasta! Do it at home, I promise you, it's so much better.
It starts with a simple homemade seafood broth. And I know what you're thinking - it's going to take forever! Oh, but friends, it's a simple stock with garlic, a few sprigs of parsley, a couple of peppercorns and those leftover shrimp peels that are absolutely useless otherwise. And it only takes 10 simple minutes, clap hands. It's a little tiny restaurant technique to make full use of these shrimp peels. YES, you can use chicken broth, but YES homemade shrimp broth makes this spicy shrimp paste so much for tasty
And now! This situation of garlic and tomato sauce. I use a total of 6 cloves of garlic in 1 dish. Friends it's real LIFE pasta. It's sassy, it's filled, it's garlic, it's love. Garlic is a few minutes ahead with red pepper flakes to help infuse olive oil so that the spice and garlic flavor is found throughout the dish. And then he hit with that stock we just made, and bam! All these things we love about summer, heat, spice, it's all there. Once you add the fresh cherry tomatoes and allow them to simmer in the most delicious sauce, you'll know why spicy shrimp pasta is one of my favorite ways to eat shrimp.
Now that you're all excited about this spicy sauce and spicy tomato simmering slowly, let me tell you how quick and easy this dinner is.
While you have the broth being made in the pan, get the pasta water going too. This will make your workflow easy and will get dinner on the FAST table. Strain the broth and have it ready to go and get to work on this spicy tomato sauce. Fry the garlic and red pepper flakes, add the broth and tomatoes, bring to a boil and simmer, covered for 10 minutes. When the 10 minutes are up your pasta water should be ready too! Pour the pasta into the pan of boiling water, continue to simmer the sauce for 5 minutes uncovered, then add the shrimp and cook for another 3-4 minutes. Drain the pasta and in the spicy garlic tomato sauce, it goes. Launch. Launch. Add Parmesan and parsley and serve! That's it!
It's fast, convenient, and there's garlic. Check, check and check. And let me also say that my spicy shrimp pasta was tested, retested, and given 2 large inches by a garlic-loving husband.
Spend the meal to take away, take a pound of shrimp, a handful of pasta, and a head of garlic.
Let's go!
